I left there feeling I had made a perfect choice in walking into to their dealership that day and know I can count on them in the future should I need any further service. They all made the process smooth and easy considering I hadn't originally planned on buying until 2021. All the signs pointed to me being the owner of my new truck. More

I wanted to take the time to say what a great experience I had with Majid. I always dislike car shopping because I feel as though I am being taken advantage of and I am just being looked at as a compensation cheque. But this time was completely different! Majid made me feel comfortable and relaxed and took the time to answer every question I had. He got our situation as new parents and helped us find the best vehicle within our budget and a vehicle that made sense to fit our growing family for years to come. We test drove 4 vehicles that day so I could get a real sense of what was out best fit! I never felt pressured, I felt comfortable to voice all my concerns plus he made laugh along the way. I couldnt be more grateful for my experience and will never use another sales person again!! Thanks Majid!! More

He was extremely helpful and very eager to please. When we picked up our vehicle he actually came into work on his day off (on an even colder more blustery day) to ensure that we were properly taken care of. I was very impressed with the service at Barrie Nissan and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. More

We than any other. Michael made my recent widowed mother feel at ease with her first new car shopping trip. She loved Michael and felt no pressure. We went to just look at the Kicks not buy it and she signed right then! Today, she absolutely loves her choice. Took a lot to get her out of a Jeep. If she could, she would rate him a 11 out of 10 if she could. Thank you!!! More

Over filling engine oil. Will be writing a letter of length about this for Nissan Canada to read. Short of the long, took my Nissan micra in for its first oil change June 2019. It was complementary. Experience was good. Checked the level a few days later in the morning before starting it and it was over the maximum level. Drained 1 litre of oil out to bring it back just below the maximum level. Told dealership of the experience and they apologized and offered a second complementary oil change. Went in December 2019. Car was kept over night as we needed some investigation into another unrelated matter. Returned the next day and I checked the oil level before going into the dealership and found it overfilled again. Took the dip stick into the dealership and express my concern. The technician came out and checked it himself and stated it just slightly overfilled. Told him I experience this before and it’s about a litre overfilled. They brought it in and drain some oil. It will void the warranty of the engine because it can cause damage and it’s a customer responsibility to ensure it’s correct before driving. What really soils this experience is their defensive nature that they didn’t do anything wrong. Service behaviour I found that displeased: No return calls, lost key and told us on a Saturday to pickup Monday, but found key, defensive in nature, technician trying to explain away the issue by stating the machine which dispenses the oil is correct, service counter person drags his feet to get the paper work done, multi point inspection paper not filled out. It was a civil exchange but tense. Should not have to check the so call expert technician’s work. If you get an oil change at Barrie Nissan check the level the next day before your first start. A response was received from the General manager December 30 2019. Will think about the response and formulate a response. Hi ct4x4lb, Please accept my sincere apology for providing you a service experience that didn't meet your expectations. This is not our goal, of course, and everyone here genuinely works hard to make customers happy and, more importantly, build trust in our service. There is no excuse for not returning calls and/or poor communication relating to lost time or misinformation. Mistakes can happen and clearly a few mistakes happened this last visit. I am very sorry for both circumstances, as neither of them lead to trust or satisfaction... Having checked with the technician and service manager, I can confirm that the amount of oil put in your vehicle, and every other vehicle, is correct to Nissan Specifications. Unfortunately not all dipsticks read exactly the same, whether physical or electronic. I have worked for GM, Audi/VW, BMW and now Nissan over a 30 year span, and have had this complaint from a few customers over time. The reason it's only a few is also unfortunate, as most people don't bother to know their car or check the oil, tire pressures, etc. The owners manual is also written in a very strict (black and white) fashion, making some things seem more extreme than they need to be. This is mainly to protect themselves from people who really don't know what they're doing, but also to alert customers to the importance of checking regularly. We see so many vehicles every day, where not a drop of oil is showing on the dipstick, because no one has checked the oil and it is normal for an engine to consume some oil between oil changes. The dipstick on most of our vehicles shows only the top 0.5L-1.0L of total oil in the crank case, contrary to a lot of customers' belief that it shows the whole amount. For oil to be dangerously high where it might create damage, it would need to show substantially above the "max" mark. The actual amount differs by vehicle, but it would need to be at least 1.0L-2.0L(depending on model) overfilled to be of concern. Not having seen your vehicle personally I don't wish to speculate on how much more it was showing. Our shop does have a digital oil dispensing system which gives us the precise amount requested. I say that, because there is always the possibility of human error, however it is extremely precise and for this reason we stand by the fact that it is unlikely to have actually been overfilled. If we overfilled your car twice, it would be a huge coincidence and highly unlikely. With the number of cars we service, it would also be very poor business practice on our part to be giving away that much extra oil without charging for it... at $59.95 for a full synthetic oil change, I am sure you understand how little money we make in that transaction. Please do not misread my intention to make this right by the long explanation above. Let me know how we can make this right for you and keep you as a customer. I'd also like to win you back so we can prove to you that we do sincerely care about you and your car, and that your 2 service interactions were not our norm... we are much better than that. Please reach out to me so we may have a conversation about how to move forward. As I cannot verify your identity from your review, please call me on my cell# ###-###-#### or email me at xxxxxxxx@barrienissan.com . Sincerely, Xxxxxx xxxxxxxxx General Manager - Barrie Nissan Mr. Surmann, Thank you for your time and addressing the question by private message in regards to the warranty concern. The annoyances experienced with the oil overfilling issue is nothing to be concerned about. We’re good. I do not doubt Barrie Nissan is trying it’s best, but something is indeed going on. I did find out a bit more online about this. On Micra-forum.com forum in their oil change thread there are comments from Micra owners experiencing the same issue. It’s not a service issue by the dealership, but rather something else altogether. Root cause is not known. It appears some Micra owners whom had the 3.5 litres put in realized upon checking their oil level found it over the maximum mark substantially. Subsequently they had to drain some oil out to bring the level back to the safe zone on the dipstick. Why this is not known more in the Micra or Nissan community is a bit of a mystery. As a suggestion to aid better understanding about this have someone check a new Micras’ oil level to see where it sits before being sold. The factory oil level. I know ours was in the safe zone below the maximum level noticeably. As well, if another newer Micra comes in for service that is kept in over night have some check the oil level the next morning before it’s started again. There is something going on but I do not know what it is. I drain some oil this morning from our Micra to bring it back to the safe zone just in side the high mark on the oil dipstick. Thank you for your time and input. Regards, Sterling More
