SALES REP: My sales rep was MJ. I can say in all honesty that I would not have bought my car at Autotown were it not for her. Mostly because I didn't like the car I originally went to see, but after getting to me and my needs, she suggested a couple of other cars. The third one I drove was a perfect match. Also, when I was still shopping around later in the week after having a bad experience with the trade-in situation (see below), she kept in touch with me, asking for a 2nd chance to make things right. Finally, MJ was also in touch several times after I took delivery of my vehicle. She helped me to arrange for the final work orders (chipped glass and scratched paint) to repair the issues I had found with the car. FOLLOW-UP: I must say I was very impressed with the post purchase follow up from Autotown. The last time I bought a used car (last year via Pembina Dodge), the only follow up I got was telephone message to remind that there was still time to buy an extended warranty. Meanwhile, I am comfortable saying Autotown truly does care about maintaining a long term relationship. I've since received several e-mails, phone calls, and reminders to complete this review -- all asking for feedback on how best to improve. SERVICE DEPARTMENT: I was extremely impressed with their service department (Bill?) when I had the outstanding work orders done. I got a courtesy car and the work was done on time. OVERALL: While my experience wasn't perfect, I must say the Autotown does indeed offer an amazing selection of high quality used vehicles. I shopped around quite a bit, and their pricing is indeed very fair. While I had a few issues related to service (see below), Autotown did in fact provide the best service when compared to the 4 other dealerships I frequented (which doesn't say much for this industry I suppose). The bad... FINANCE REP: I made an appointment to go through the final paperwork and take delivery of the vehicle, but when I arrived on the Saturday afternoon (thanks to a ride from my brother), I waited for over an hour before the Finance rep came to say hello. Then I found out the Finance rep wasn’t ready for me and wouldn't be ready for me for at least 3 hours (despite the fact that I made an appointment with her that morning!). I returned at 5pm later that day (got a ride from my dad), did the paperwork and took delivery then. To her credit, the Finance rep (sorry, I forget her name) was really expedient, did not try any pressure tactics (re: extended warranty, etc.), and I drove away in less than 30 minutes. ADVERTISEMENT: The features and functions that were listed on their advertisement did not match the features and functions of the car. The ad for the car listed it as a Volvo S40 T5 “R-Design”, and it noted features like "power moon roof", "block heater", and "17'' wheels". In fact, none of this was true. When I asked about the discrepancy, they responded with "The advertisement online is as accurate as provided via VIN decoder. Since the program can only read the vehicles VIN, once it is entered it generates all the information automatically. It may not always be exact which is why we put a disclaimer to check with the dealership for clarification. Thank you for noticing the error. We do try to provide the most accurate information as much as possible and will continue to do so. If at any time there is an error, we would do our part and correct it diligently. Thank you for bringing that to our attention." TRADE-IN: My biggest disappointment with Autotown was in dealing with my trade-in. Like with most dealerships, they said they needed to bring my trade into the shop to get a good look at it in order to determine the value (which I've come to realize is BS). They said this would take about an hour, so I left for an hour and a half and when I came back my car hadn't moved. When I announced my return, the Manager (Chris) walked over to my car and gave it a visual up and down -- he walked around the car once and looked inside the window. I was watching him from about 10 feet away and he didn't even go inside the car to start it or have a closer look. He came back inside 5 minutes later and said the best he could offer was $2000. I told him that if he was just going to look it over and make me a BS offer for my trade, he could have done that an hour and a half ago and not waste my time. To his credit he did apologize, but this was enough frustration for me that I decided at that point not to buy a car from Autotown. (Side note: I listed my car on Kijiji that night for $6700 and I had a bidding war, eventually selling it for $7500 the next morning). As mentioned above, MJ was the one who reached out a few days later, she apologized again for the trade-in situation, and she asked if there was any way she could earn my business. At that point I had sold my car and I did indeed like the car MJ showed me, so after several other test drives at other dealers, MJ got me to come back and I bought the Volvo. FINAL THOUGHT: So while Autotown is still a used car dealership and any praise should be looked at on the spectrum of used car dealerships, I can say that from the 6 used cars I've purchased over the years, Autotown was in fact the best deanship I've purchased a vehicle from. I am quite happy with my S40 — it truly runs like a dream and I’m happy I chose it over the other vehicles I was looking at. And I'm also very pleased with the follow up. More
Friendly with a no-pressure attitude I was looking for a reliable winter vehicle and, although I did not purchase from MJ and Auto Town, she was extremely helpful in the process. Good, not Great. I visited Autotown to look at a car I saw on their website. When I got there they informed me that the car wasn't available anymore, but that they could help find me something that could suit me. That's where Mary Jane came in the picture as my saleswoman. She was truly a delight to deal with in terms of customer service. When I test drove 2 cars she accompanied me both times and was a good conversationalist. Mary Jane deserves a 5 star review. I ended up purchasing a 2012 Chevy Cruze LT with around 35k km. The price was very fair, to both myself and the dealer. I didn't get a steal by any means. For the financing I dealt with Mike, the finance manager. To say he knew his stuff is an understatement. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was also always reachable by cell which is great. I would give him a 5 star any day. From a service stand point, everything was aces. However, I didn't spend thousands of dollars for the great service. I did it for the car itself. The day I finalized all the paper work and took the car home for the first time (approx. 30km away), as soon as I got home there was a loud knock coming from the hood, I opened it and there was smoke coming out of the engine. It was clear my water pump was shot. Also, I checked the oil level that night and the oil was pure black. Something I should of checked before purchasing the car. The next day I called Autotown, they told me to bring it to my local Chevy dealer to get it fixed under powertrain warranty. The water pump was indeed shot, there was also a leak in the oil pan. Everything worked out in the end, as it was covered under powertrain warranty. But it still doesn't change the fact that Autotown sold me the car with all these issues. It's not like the water pump and the leak in the oil pan happened in the 30 kilometres it took me to get home from the dealership. Not the best feeling when you get home with your "new" car and smokes comes out from the hood. I was very disappointed. Also, they should of spent the $20 and changed the oil. Doesn't look good when you buy a car from the dealership and you have what looks like tar as oil. Still, I would recommend this dealership because of their customer service and good reputation. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, that my case was a rare one. More

He explained to me all about the 2 cars I had driven for a test drive and he answered straightforward with out sugar coating some concerned I brought up . Amanda has a good sense of humour and has a great listening ears as well as she knew her stuff. Over all the company as a whole has an Xfactor of welcoming culture which is an edge against other dealers. Keep up the good values and work ethics, way to go! More

Dealing with friendly, honest and dependable Paul I felt very comfortable paying for the van. After sales follow-up by Paul was perfect and reassuring. All issues identified were dealt with by Paul with full support of Andres. I will definitely recommend autotown to anyone that wants to purchase a used vehicle without any stress. I was able to pick the car that I wanted, arrange all the finances and drive away with that car alI in one day! Oh, and their pricing is unbeatable!! I would definitely recommend Autotown on Regent to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle. More
