Double dipping and overcharging 2011 Toyota brakes were deemed fine by this dealer last October when I was charged $275 for oil change plus "preventative maintenance package"- They h 2011 Toyota brakes were deemed fine by this dealer last October when I was charged $275 for oil change plus "preventative maintenance package"- They had the nerve and got away with charging an extra $30 to replace the air cabin filter. July 2015 - Less than 20,000 km later- Brakes now noisy and needed service. OK- Came in as well for oil change. Now told needed complete new front brakes and rears as well. Gave an estimate of $1100. Declined the work to get a second opinion but got charged $94 for oil change and brake "inspection". Went over immediately to CDN tire, where they said only rear pads needed. Total Cost $ 235 and got them done. Amherst Toyota, do you get my point ? No wonder the one-star rating. Very disappointing this sole Toyota dealership in this region feels the need to gouge and mislead the very same people and community they purport to serve. More

Went to buy a used Honda Civic I liked a Honda civic at their dealership and went to buy it from Halifax after driving 2 hours. I bought the car at their price, didn't even reduce the penny and he also forcefully offered me the extended warranty by saying that I have to keep it for 90 days in the event I want to cancel it. I signed all paper work and brought the car with me to Halifax. They didn't even clean it, I took dirty car because I was not having any other option but I don't mind it's fine. I then realised that I don't need warranty and upon reading warranty contract it's been clearly said that I have only 30 days to cancel it, I also verified with third party company who offered this warranty. I then called Business Manager Murray to cancel it but he never listened to me and was very rude to me. Then he decided after a week to take off the warranty and also came back to me saying that bank cannot approve my loan for 5 year term which I have selected and have to keep it for only 2 years and 25% down payment is needed as well or I have return the car back to them. After moving back and forth I decided to return the car although I could have fight it as I have the signed documents. Later upon checking with bank I came to know that they never submitted my approval request. Anyway's, I returned the car and Murray promised me to refund all the expenses that I have to bear like insurance cancellation etc. once I give them all the receipts. I have to call/email him every hour every day to follow up but no response ever always busy. After almost a month of fight I got the check of my expenses and that too $30 less. I don't care about $30 but these guys don't know what is customer service, how to treat the customers well. All I can say is please never ever to business with Amherst Toyota, they don't worth it. I bought a bran new toyota Venza (48 000$) I was told that I got such a deal on my car that they could not even give me anything with it !!! They obviously don't know what customer's satisfaction means !!!! I was told that I had 4000$ sale on my car, and when I made it home and calculated my payment multiplied by the amount of months, I was paying the exact same price that they show on the internet!!! So I got no deal and nothing with the car!!! PLEASE PEOPLE DRIVE A BIT MORE AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT !!!! Im really disappointed with them and they are surely not good representative for Toyota bran. More
